Jeffrey Porterfield joins V21 Artspace as Director of Partnerships, North America

V21 Artspace is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Porterfield has joined the organisation as Director of Partnerships, North America, working closely with the team to develop projects, relationships, and strategic partnerships across the United States.

Based in New York, Jeffrey brings over two decades of experience working at the intersection of exhibition production, institutional practice, and contemporary art. His role at V21 Artspace will focus on introducing and developing collaborations with museums, galleries, artists, estates, and private collections, supporting the growth of V21 Artspace’s digital exhibition, archiving, and CGI platforms across North America.

Jeffrey previously spent more than a decade at Hauser & Wirth, where he worked across multiple roles including Operations Technician and later Art Production and Exhibition Designer. During this time, he was closely involved in the production and delivery of numerous major exhibitions, developing deep expertise in exhibition design, spatial planning, technical coordination, and institutional workflows. His experience spans production models, exhibition layouts, elevations, lighting, virtual tours, and complex, multi-site project delivery.

Alongside his work with Hauser & Wirth, Jeffrey has held positions at institutions including the New-York Historical Society and Anton Kern Gallery, building a career grounded in hands-on exhibition making and operational leadership within some of the most respected art organisations in the United States.

In parallel to his professional practice, Jeffrey is also an artist, working across sculpture, installation, and spatial practice. His work reflects a long-standing engagement with material, structure, and the built environment, concerns that closely align with V21 Artspace’s interest in space, architecture, and the digital translation of physical experience. Joe Clark, Director and Co-Founder of V21 Artspace, has also collected Jeffrey’s work personally, and the two share a long-standing friendship rooted in a mutual interest in exhibition making, spatial practice, and contemporary art. Reflecting on the collaboration, Joe Clark said:

“I’ve known Jeffrey’s work, both professionally and as a collector, and there’s a clarity and rigour to how he thinks about space that I deeply respect. Bringing that sensibility into V21 Artspace’s North American work feels like a natural step.”

Jeffrey’s appointment strengthens V21 Artspace’s presence in North America and supports its ongoing work with leading cultural institutions, galleries, artists, and estates, as the platform continues to expand its international reach.
