Exhibitions in Dialogue: Rooms of Our Own, The Lockdown House

V21 Artspace launches Exhibitions in Dialogue, a new video series exploring the creative, technical and curatorial thinking behind digital exhibitions, beginning with Rooms of Our Own: The Lockdown House.
V21 Artspace is pleased to launch Exhibitions in Dialogue, a new video series exploring the ideas, technologies and creative processes behind digital exhibitions, virtual environments and immersive cultural experiences.
In the first episode, Joe Clark is joined by Claire Cutts, Co-Founder and Creative Director of V21 Artspace, and Rana Issa, Director of European Marketing and Software Developer, to discuss Rooms of Our Own: The Lockdown House.
Developed in collaboration with researchers from the University of Lincoln, the project transformed writings, testimonies, poems, diaries and reflections created during the COVID-19 lockdown into a navigable digital house. Rather than presenting the material as a conventional exhibition, the experience embedded writing, audio, video and archival material throughout a domestic environment, allowing visitors to encounter stories of isolation, resilience, creativity and everyday life through interactive spaces and objects.
The conversation explores how digital environments can create intimacy, how academic and documentary material can be brought closer through spatial storytelling, and how virtual exhibitions can move beyond documentation to become emotionally resonant cultural experiences in their own right.
