The Closest Thing To Being There

V21 Artspace specialises in creating immersive 3D virtual exhibitions for galleries, museums, and cultural organisations worldwide. Using cutting-edge Matterport 3D laser scanning and bespoke CGI technology, we transform physical exhibitions into accessible online experiences and build entirely new virtual spaces limited only by imagination.

Our 3D virtual exhibitions provide a digital solution for accessibility, audience development, and permanent archiving. When a live exhibition has closed, audiences can continue to engage with the work, enjoying the experience again at their leisure and sharing with others unable to visit in person.

Since 2017, we have produced hundreds of 3D virtual exhibitions for leading arts and cultural institutions, building one of the largest archives of virtual art exhibitions in the world.

V21 custom tour interface

Now live. A new way to explore your space.

V21’s own viewing and annotation system, built on Matterport.

Connect the captured space with a custom interface, contextual information and navigation designed around your audience. Developed for exhibitions, with the flexibility to adapt to other sectors.

Select the object itself

Map interactive areas to surfaces in the 3D scene, including traced outlines for irregular works. A click or tap opens the associated story.

Arrive at the intended view

Browse a visual menu or move between nearby works. Saved viewing positions bring visitors to the angle chosen in the editor.

Manage the experience together

Keep projects, media, content and placement in one CMS workflow, with a separate link for the visitor experience.

Information in context

Room to look. Space to read.

The desktop panel brings the image and its details together. Visitors choose when to open it and can return to exploring the space at any time.

Made for mobile

V21 development. Matterport technology.

Built using Matterport’s Showcase Bundle SDK and Model API, our software connects the 3D scene to custom interactions, camera journeys and information panels. V21 manages the interface and content workflow around the captured environment.

A fully adaptable interface.

The V21 interface can be fully adapted to your brand, content and audience—from page layouts and visual styling to menus, content fields and interaction design. We can shape it for museum collections, heritage, learning, visitor orientation and commercial spaces.

A foundation for machine-readable spaces

Structured records connect objects, context and positions in the model. Published text, metadata and data integrations can build on this foundation to support search, discovery and AI-assisted retrieval, with links back to the source. Visibility depends on publication, content quality and indexing.

Designed to widen access

Bring artworks and their stories to a global audience through remote access, multilingual interpretation and inclusive content design. Remote viewing, readable information and named navigation offer more ways to explore. We can develop text alternatives, captions, transcripts, audio description and keyboard journeys around the audience, with accessibility testing across the complete experience.

Beyond photographs

The interface can be extended with interactive 3D models, video, audio, PDFs and other supporting media. The live version currently uses images and text; additional integrations are tailored to the brief, including accessible alternatives and mobile performance.
