Archaeology, reimagined as an experience.

A worked flint. A golden coin. A trace of someone who lived here long before us. Archaeological records hold extraordinary human stories, but finding a way into them can take imagination. For Abingdon County Hall Museum, we brought those records into an interactive landscape: connecting objects, places and seven periods of the past.

WHAT WE CREATED

Experience & interface design

A bespoke journey through time, shaped around exploration. Visitors move through the landscape, choose a period and follow their curiosity into the collection.

Interactive 3D landscape

A navigable digital setting gives archaeological discoveries a sense of place. Locations and period transitions connect individual finds to a wider story.

Object photogrammetry

We photographed and reconstructed selected museum objects in three dimensions. Visitors can turn them, look closer and discover details that a single photograph cannot show.

Collection integration & web development

Collection descriptions, images and 3D objects meet in one custom interface, supported by a content management system that gives the museum room to keep developing its digital story.

Photogrammetry brings the physical collection into the digital experience. The detail of a surface, the shape of a tool, the decoration on a coin: each becomes another invitation to look closer.

Designed for discovery.

A custom interface brings each object into focus, connecting our photogrammetry models with photographs, archaeological interpretation and collection records. Visitors can rotate and zoom, move between finds, and return to the places where their stories began.
