Virtual tours of museums and galleries are on the rise as the COVID-19 pandemic hits the world. This time 15min suggests paying attention to the wide selection of works by women artists and scholars.

There were many women's societies and organizations in the inter-war Lithuania whose common goal was to build a society that pursued Christian values. These societies and organizations were active in a variety of fields: social, women's rights, education, culture, and had their own hospitals, shelters, schools.

Well-known public figures such as M.Galdikienė, P.Pikčilingienė, A.Sereikytė, dr. V.Karvelienė, S.Čiurlionienė, O.Mašiotienė, M.Žmuidzinavičienė and others are included. Visit the exhibition here.

The Feminist Institute Digital Exhibit Project

This institute was founded to make feminism art more accessible. Google Arts and Culture offers 10 stories about one of the first voices of feminism in American art, Mary Beth Edelson, who, in the famous "Last Supper," painted Georgia O'Keeffe, the mother of American modernism, in place of Jesus Christ.

It also offers a virtual exhibition of one of the most important contemporary artists, Cindy Sherman.

Finally, art lovers will take a tour of the studios of painting by M.B. Edelson and the rebellious Judith Bernstein. You can visit the Institute's gallery here.

The Marie Curie Museum is located on the ground floor of one of the oldest Curie Institute buildings. This building is the third and final laboratory of a renowned scientist, Nobel Prize winner. She has spent 20 years here since 1915.
