Aurélie Quentin is a French Artist with Italian and Russian roots. Born in 1984, she grew up on a tropical island in Indian Ocean called La Réunion. After graduating in Architecture in Paris, she soon chooses painting as a mean to express her creativity through large figurative portraits. With oil painting, Aurélie Quentin shows a rebellious and mixed youth in an urban and often tropical scenery.
The art of idleness is at the centre of Aurelie Quentin’s work, and takes a particular place at the end of a crisis which forced people to stay at home.
Whether there are imposed or chosen, which values do we give to these moments where we can’t do anything other than enjoy the present time?
Anyhow, the artist’s models do it with style and a certain irreverence. Only the art lover seems to disturb them in those moments of wholeness, captured on the canvas.
In this temporary partitioned world, Aurelie Quentin’s painting is an invitation to travel, questioning a productive sense of time.
French artist of Italian-Russian descent, Aurelie Quentin was born in 1984 and grew up in Reunion Island, the land of cultural mix.
Originally architect, she quickly chooses painting to express her creativity. She works on figurative portrait with large format, painted with oil, showing a rebel and mixed raced youth, in an urban and exotic decor.
