Inspired by Rhodri Marsden’s first x-ray? Love the impossibly intricate symmetry of proteins? See the beauty in liver histology? The INSPIRE’s ‘Art of Research’ competition showcases the artistic side of academia. This art competition was open to any students studying in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Pieces which clearly demonstrated the relationship between academia and art were marked highly by judges.

About Inspire
INSPIRE is a nationwide programme supported by the Wellcome Trust to engage medical students in research. INSPIRE Nottingham provides opportunities for students to pursue their interest in academic research. INSPIRE Nottingham hosts preparatory courses for the Academic Foundation Programme, welcome high profile academics to speak at the University about their careers and organize summer research projects for interested students. This year, they will be hosting the National Medical Research Conference. This is an opportunity for medical students to come together and share ideas, present their research and network.
